“Walking Together on a Path of Unity”
The 2019 Magnolia School, November 15 – 17 at Roosevelt State Park, Morton, MS
Facilitator: Mrs. Yvonne Billingsley
We are thrilled to invite you to attend this year’s Magnolia Baha’i Seasonal School!
As the National Baha’i Schools Committee has shared recently:
“At a time when the signs of moral decay of society are evident in the deterioration of family ties, the countless permutations of “us” and “them”, the resurgent forces of racism, nationalism and factionalism, it is no small task to nurture the kind of family and community life envisaged in the Baha’i teachings”.
With this in mind, the National Office of Education and Schools and the MS Schools Committee have collaborated to create a program in which individuals and families can come together to learn from each other’s experiences and gain new insights for addressing racial prejudice.
Friends, we look forward to sharing with you a joyful environment and an atmosphere of openness, elevated conversations, meaningful learning experiences, and compassion! Visual and performing arts will be integrated into the program for all to participate in.
Please note: There are two lodging options this year through the MS Magnolia Baha’i School Registration Process: Group Dorms or Cabins. Roosevelt State Park features cabins with beautiful views of Shadow Lake. Cabins are furnished with queen size beds, bed and bath linens, television, and basic kitchen equipment. All cabins are air-conditioned and heated. Every cabin features a screened-in porch. Both of these lodging options are reserved through the MS Schools Committee and are listed on the attached registration form.
There is a third lodging option if you require the privacy of a hotel room. However, hotel rooms must be booked separately and paid for separately. The room rate is approximately $ 82.00 + tax per night. To book the hotel, go to: firstname.lastname@example.org or call Reserve America at 1-800-467-2757.
Please plan on joining us for a wonderful weekend of fellowship and learning!
